In the busy world today, things that one is going behind, deadlines, and responsibilities can make someone forget himself or herself. What do you think would happen if I told you that you need not wait until you are on vacation or have an upscale moment before you can enjoy your life? Making life magical is possible by just romanticising it, with little things of day-to-day self-care.
Now, don not panic, I do not mean some high-priced spa treatments or high end products. It is more of someone taking things slowly, being gentle to oneself and enjoying the charm of every day. Believe me, even drinking chai when sitting in your balcony can be movie like scenes, you must have to make it so.
๐ธ What Does “Romanticising Your Life” Mean?
In other words, it is all about making your life special, whatever you want it to be, so as to be the main actor in your own life. It implies putting more meaning, beauty and even pleasure in the smallest moments of the day.
It does not mean that you have to be rich and live in Paris to make you feel this way. It is mindset. You simply begin to view the norm in miracle-like ways.
☕ Why Is Self-Care So Important?
To be frank with you, I have always considered self-care to be nothing more than a face mask and a bubble bath. However, when it came to a very hectic period of my life I discovered that it is far more than that.
Self-care refers to being present of your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing. It implies being able to listen to what your body and providing the necessary thing to you. And then when you do that regularly, your life turns out to become more meaningful and beautiful.
๐ท How to Start Romanticising Your Life with Daily Self-Care
Here are some easy and budget-friendly ways you can start:
1. Create a Soft Morning Ritual ☀️
Wake up slowly and calmly. It is sufficient even 10-15 minutes.
- Light a candle or an incense stick
- Play chilling music (look no further than Lofi or old Hindi instrumentals!)
- Take a 5-minute body stretch
- Hydrate wisely Swallowing water is not the same as drinking something that makes you feel lighter.
2. Dress for Yourself — Even at Home ๐
Something cute can be worn anywhere without any special occasion. Wear some ankle bells or add some kurti or even put on some kajal. When you are alright in what you are wearing, you get your energy redirected. Even, I put on perfume sometimes at home alone. It gives me a great feeling of loveliness..
3. Take Slow Walks and Observe Nature ๐ฟ
Sky change colour or listening to birds is something magical. Just a 10-minute walk in your lane or any near-by park can put your spirits up. You can put the phone down and simply watch. You will be able to feel a part of all this: nature and yourself.

I understand - cleaning dishes or folding clothes does not sound exiting. However, put a twist in it!
- Do it with your favourite playlist on the background
- Put odor dish wash or softener
- It should be considered as a form of meditation-being there at that time
Now, tedious work does not seem to be a burden anymore.
5. Enjoy Solo Time Without Feeling Lonely ๐
Being alone does not mean being sad, it is empowering. Go out on a coffee date with yourself, read a book or paint something wet. Pick up a diya at night and put in your journal.
It is one of my favourite things? On the terrace at night seeing the stars and letting my thoughts go. It is something you ought to attempt.
6. Add Aesthetic Touches to Your Space ๐ฏ️
You do not have to change the appearance of your entire room. It is just small adjustments such as:
- Flower in a glass
- Against your bed fairy lights
- A nice bed sheet and a pillow
When the place you live in is nice and cozy both visually and physically, your spirits will lift on their own.
7. Be Kind to Yourself in Thoughts ๐ญ
It is what you say to yourself that is important. Would you tell your best mate that he is lazy, ugly or useless? No, right?
Then quit inventing that against yourself.
Instead say:
- I am trying the best I can and that is sufficient.
- There is nothing wrong with getting a rest.
- Being far not perfect, I can still enjoy life.
Self-care is changing this voice inside us in one of the strongest ways.
8. Make Ordinary Moments Feel Special ๐ฝ️
Do not rush up your meal. Serve it on a fancy dish. Accentuate with a candle or some low music. Treat curd rice even as a treat, even when you are at it. Each meal may turn into a happy moment.
9. Disconnect to Reconnect ๐ต
See whether you can go without your phone one hour per day. No Instagram. No messages. Just you. It will be weird at first, but soon, you will adore the silence. You will be able to hear your own voice again.
10. Celebrate Small Wins ๐ฅณ
Completed a task list? Did you take a shower though you were down? Touchdown!
We only look forward to massive things to be proud with ourselves. Life is composed of small steps. Study to rejoice over those.

One question I often get asked is that what is romanticizing your life all about. Am I meant to change everything about the way I live and am I being told to transform my lifestyle just because I take self-care on a daily basis. It is about awareness of your life. How to experience it completely, without being judgmental or in a worry that I am not in a hurry.
When you view your life as beautiful - it is beautiful.
And no you do not require a posh cafe or seaside trip. All you need is a candle, a bit of silence and an aspiration to love yourself more and more day by day.
